ixMAT - The mobile phone as mobile scanner
ixMAT - an innovative system transforming the mobile phone into a universal scanner,
without needing any other hardware devices.
The Java-based software "ixMAT" acquires 1D- and 2D-codes through the photo camera
of the mobile phone and analyses it. To scan 1D-Code was our latest new functionality with ixMAT.
The picture of the code is identified automatically and decoded with image processing into readable text.
No additional hardware is necessary for the acquisition of codes.
These slim text data can be send via radio communication like GPRS.
New in May 2008 and unique is: ixMAT will run on BlackBerry and Windows Mobile devices .
Supported Phones
The Java-based application will run on java-compatible mobile phones. Furthermore the new software supports also BlackBerry
and Windows Mobile devices.
Supported Codes
Our next generation of ixMAT will support the following code standards.
- EAN 13
- EAN 8
- UPC A
- Code 39
- Code 128 (normal and condensed)
- Data matrix code (2D-Code)
- QR-Code (2D-Code)
Data matrix and the QR code are 2D-Codes.
The 2D-Code contains more useful information than a barcode. So, up to 3116
signs can be used for information about product tracking, address, special product information,
like nutritive values, or projects.
Modular
ixMAT can be integrated as a modular component into different user-specific mobile applications.
