Calculation of the risk
The computer-aided version of the risk diagram (Fig. 1) has been developend
on the basic of studies made by Mr. Ramseier, Mr. Lang and other authors.
Fig. 1 The risk diagram
The vectors of the risk diagram represent individual factors and/or indicators. All factors are to be judged together.
The risk diagram is like an hexagon, it shows, the lowest risk inside and the highest risk on the outside.
Of the result from Mr. Ramseier and Mr. Lang, exists a small periodontal risk, if all six parameters are in the low risk
category and/or max. one in the middle.
A middle risk will exists, if they are two parameters in the middle or max. one parameter in the high category.
A high risk exists, if they are two parameters in the high category.
These parameters are the basic for the following calculation of the risk and the recall. (Fig. 2).
Fig. 2 Diagram with calculation of the risk and recall
The program "Dentalyser" calculate BL/Age and the interval of the recall (after input the values) automatically.
The interval depends on the risk, 3, 6 or 12 months.
The Fig. 2 shows an recall interval of 6 months and a middle risk (yellow).
The risk diagram can print out for the patients, inclusive all current and/or historical
data.
Fig. 3 Risk changed manually
The automatically suggested risk evaluation can be changed manually (Fig. 3).
The dentist can modify the classification of the risk of a patient
to be able to do an individual therapy.
Fig. 4 Historical (lines) and current diagram
The diagram will be saved in the data base af the Dantalyser.
Colored graphics permits a comparison of the different analysis. Historical and current graphics are indicated at the same
time (Fig. 4).
